Happy Holidays from TD/D
I just wanted to check in for a moment--not that this site has tons of readers or anything, but we have started to build a little fan base during our Ke Davi gigs during the first part of the fall, so I wanted to keep everybody informed as to what's going on.Here's the scoop: Ke Davi is closed for remodeling at the moment (sure hope they're not taking out the "stage area"), so you won't be hearing any public performances from us this month. However, we hope to be getting everyone together, holiday schedules willing, and rehearsing a bit and then cutting a demo. Most of the other places we're trying to play want to hear us first (understandably so), and we weren't successful in getting them to any of our previous gigs, so the demo seems to be the way to go. I'm sure it's only the first of many from us, since we'll update as we grow as a band and add stuff (especially originals) to our repertoire.
At any rate, I just wanted to give an update so that nobody would think either of the D's in TD/D stood for "dormant." The logistics of the group will probably get a lot easier when Dingus joins Halfling at UNT next year and we most likely become a Denton-based band, with me being the only one doing a lot of driving. But for now, we're happy with the lineup that we had for the last gig, and we plan to make a lot of music with them in the months to come. Keep watching this site for further announcements.
Oh, and if you're a fan of big bands and ever thought it might be cool to list your own "fantasy band," go to the new Dreamland Big Band site that Halfling has put together.
