Go West, Young Guitarist
We found out this week that Alex, our founding guitarist, is moving to the Bay Area at the end of July. We won't have any problem covering the chair for the interim time until we find a permanent replacement, but in the meantime, we're scrambling to try and find a place to play before he leaves so we can give him a proper send-off. Most of our usual (and potentially future) places are already full for July, but we're trying again anyway.We're definitely going to miss Alex. Besides the wide array of influences his playing brings to the group (his Brazilian background comes through, but it's also very steeped in the blues), he's just a really, really good guy. He also seemingly knows everybody under the sun, so our audiences were full of Alex Fan Club members.
We will have some new gigs to post soon, no matter what, but watch this space in the next week or so, as we'd really like the "Farewell to Alex" gig to come to fruition.
